Today, MyRate reviews the impact of the Smith family Toy & Book appeal.

Every year, MyRate participates in the Smith Family and their Christmas “Toy & book Appeal” organized by our office building managers.
Staff members of MyRate donated toys and books to financially disadvantaged children across Australia.

“Right now one in 10 kids across Australia are experiencing financial disadvantage, leaving them particularly vulnerable at Christmas time “says Lisa O’Brien, The Smith Family’s CEO.

The Smith Family organizes this huge event every year where hundreds of community volunteers donate their time to sort, pack and deliver the gifts in time for Christmas.
Each toy and book gift pack is chosen to suit the age and gender of the children in the household.
Toy and Book packing activities have been taking place all over the country.

Every Christmas an estimated 20,000 toy and book gift packs are distributed to needy families.

“The Smith Family believes that Christmas is a time for social cohesion and participation. Providing assistance at Christmas is also a major part of our history and traditions and we intend to continue this gesture of goodwill well into the future.”

At MyRate we are happy that a few gifts made a little difference to a child on Christmas morning.
